Life After The Fall

My name is Robert. A number of years ago I was living in sin ... smoking, drinking, clubbing and had a girlfriend that was a dancer! I never went to church or read the Bible and was not sure if there was a God. I had no thought for God or my soul.

One morning I had just finished working and laid down on the bed. As I lay there I had a visitation from the Lord. The power of God came upon me and convicted me of sin. The Lord revealed to me that the Bible is true and that it is the Word of God. As the Spirit of the Lord brought conviction to my heart I began to cry.

I heard a voice say to me, " Do you believe in the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit? " I replied, " Yes! " Following this incident, I experienced both forgiveness of sins and peace in my heart. ( Prior to this time I had neither peace nor joy ! ).

The Fall

Shortly after my visitation, outlined above, I fell from the window of my flat. At that time I was living in a flat on the 7th floor of a 16 floor apartment complex ( see photograph opposite ... seven windows up and on the far left hand side). As I was falling rapidly towards the ground, I called out to Jah **.

(** Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. Psalm 68:4 )

I then heard a voice reply, " You are saved." I believe that God delivered me that day because I could have fallen onto a concrete border next to the apartment complex and at the best the impact would have paralysed me or in the worst case scenario the fall would have resulted in my death.

I did not land on the concrete but on a grass verge several feet distant from the building.

A newspaper account of the incident commented, ' The man left a seven - inch indentation in the grass below.'

Life After

Today I preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ because God' s love and grace has been shed into my heart. I also work as a nurse and see some people come into hospital alive and go out dead. I am writing this leaflet to remind you that life is like a vapour. The Bible says :-

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4: 14

Therefore, I urge you to give your life to Jesus Christ and believe in your heart so you will have eternal life (Romans 10:13; Matthew 1:21; Acts 2:37, 38 and Acts 4:12). I offer the following prayer as a first step.

Heavenly Father I come to you now. Lord I am a sinner. I have sinned against you even this day, but Lord, I come and ask you in the name of Jesus that you will forgive me for all my sins, that you will wash me in the blood of Jesus and I shall be cleansed from all sin. I thank you now for saving me. Come into my heart and into my life and Lord lead me by your Spirit and help me to live for you from this day forth and I thank you now in Jesus' name, Amen.

To continue as a true believer you must follow the Lord Jesus Christ. This involves regularly:

Reading the Bible;

Praying to God in Jesus' name;

Fellowshipping with other born-again believers.
