And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: -- Ephesians 6: 17
Weapons of Our Warfare
One night about 10 pm all of a sudden I received a sharp pain in the chest. I asked the Lord what to do and heard the reply, " Praise the Lord." I started to do just that! At one point I was playing an audio tape with musical renditions of Key Healing Scriptures and singing along to them.
After about one hour the pain on my chest suddenly lifted off and I was free again. Glory to God.
The Bible states the following:-
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3,4)
In this passage it does not directly state what these weapons of our warfare are but we know from other passages in Bible that PRAISE is a major weapon against satan.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; ... To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; ( Psalm 149: 6, 8 ).
Another weapon is the WORD OF GOD. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness ( see Luke 4:1-13 ) he overcame the devil using this weapon.
A third weapon is the BLOOD OF THE LAMB.
They overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the lamb, by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their own lives unto death (Revelation 12:13).
As you study the scriptures it becomes obvious there are many times when weapons are used in combination. For example, in Revelation 12:13 noted above we see not only the BLOOD OF JESUS but also WORD OF OUR TESTIMONY.
Other weapons include PRAYER, FASTING and NAME OF JESUS.
Attack from the enemy may come in several forms... invading sickness or symptom; worry, fear and anxiety, etc.
Other good scriptures to memorise for spiritual warfare and keep in your arsenal of weapons are as follows:-
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ( James 4: 7 ).
... greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. ( John 4: 4b ).
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. ( 2 Timothy 1: 7 ).
